The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 49

Zi Han’s head was dangerously approaching boiling point and mind you this was just day one. His anger wasn’t only directed towards Yi Chen. In fact, he could just ignore that incident. It was that picture that had him on the verge of exploding.

If his grandfather sees that picture then forget being in the academy. He might as well sign up for a crochet class and forget joining the military.

Despite his grandfather’s repeated warnings, he had taken a class picture right next to the enemy. If this won’t have his grandfather pulling him out of the military by the leg then what would?

Thus he needed to cool himself down before he goes into class one. The only problem was that in his anger he lost his sense of direction and found himself in the place that he didn’t want to be in the first place.

He had stumbled upon class one’s doors and as he took a step back to leave Zi Han heard someone call to him in an insulting manner. Of course, they wouldn’t call to him using his name because they had no idea what it was thus they could only settle for the most insulting title they could think of.

“Hey, garbage star!..... Where do you think you are going?” called out a voice now familiar to him. It was that arrogant narcissist that went by the name Maverick. Like two bulls they had already butted heads earlier but it seemed this guy wasn’t resigned.

Zi Han could have been the bigger person and choose to walk away but that wasn’t his nature. He could have easily kept his promise to his grandfather if he wasn’t provoked.

He was like a swarm of bees. If you stay the fuck away from their hive they would go about their business and ignore you. But if you actively stick your hand in the hive then wouldn’t that make him a wuss if he doesn’t retaliate?

.....

Zi Han’s steps paused as he pressed the tip of his tongue on his cheek. A wolfish grin crept up his face as he turned around and looked through the door of the class.

Maverick who had been sitting on top of one of the fancy desks jumped down and took two strides over with an intimidating posture like he was a roaster about to establish the pecking order.

Zi Han walked over in slow heavy strides bringing with him an eerie atmosphere that could have ghosts scurrying back into their graves in fear. The class that had been murmuring under their breaths suddenly quieted down as though perceiving the dangerous atmosphere.

The grin on Zi Han’s face grew even more malicious as he glared at this Maverick guy. The boy was a little shaken that his foot scraped the floor moving back a little but he immediately stopped himself retracting it back into its original position.

His pride had returned back online and refused let him back down. His entire family had already expressed their dissatisfaction with him and now that he had found out who the culprit was he wouldn’t let him go.

“Do we have a problem?” asked Zi Han with a slight tilt of his head as he stared at him from the corner of his eye with a raised brow. His hands were itching to beat the shit out of someone right now and he was begging for this person to make the first strike. This was his only way to work around his promise to his grandfather. He could use the classic self-defence card as an excuse for beating the living delights out of someone at school. In that case, his grandfather wouldn’t hold him accountable.

Maverick who had the backing of his two other friends grew more courageous. He took a step forward and jabbed his finger hard against Zi Han’s chest in provocation. “You..... you are my problem. I still can’t fathom the fact you have a level B mental power but you somehow managed to wiggle your way into class one,” said Maverick before his friend chimed in,

“If it isn’t foul play then how does one explain such a supernatural event?” said the boy standing beside Maverick with a stick from a lollipop sticking out at the corner of his mouth.

His inquiry might seem normal to others but to those who had carefully studied admission procedures in the handbook, he got it all wrong. Indeed Zi Han’s mental power was nothing special in the eyes of the student but it was something that could be improved with the right training regimen.

What actually landed him in that class wasn’t only his grades that were exceptionally high but also his combat ability. If he applied for his pre-training enrollment at Scylla from the beginning he wouldn’t have needed his grandfather to intervene on his behalf.

He was more than qualified to be a cadet in this academy and he was more than qualified to be in class one but Maverick failed to recognize that. All he saw was a dove occupying a magpie’s nest.

Zi Han snorted coldly when he heard that boy’s words. He proceeded to lick his bottom lip before saying, “Is that right? Then what are you going to do about it? Are you just going to stand around like a little bitch and whine about it all day?”

“YOU!....,” yelled Maverick his face flushed from anger as he clenched his fist tightly like he was going to attack at any moment.

Zi Han glanced at that clenched fist and his smile grew bigger. “No wonder you lost your spot in this class. It turns out you are so weak... all you do is run your mouth but when it comes down to it..... You. Can’t. Do. Shit,” said Zi Han deliberately poking the hornet’s nest and seeing what comes out.
