The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 251

He maintained an impassive look like this truly had nothing to do with him. “I don’t know... from the looks of it I am the most likely suspect. I have both the motive and the means but I didn’t do it,” replied Yi Chen with the most blunt tone almost angering the Marshal.

“Of course, you didn’t do it. You are the most rational person I know. You aren’t impulsive unlike a certain someone you are actively protecting,” replied Marshal Yi staring dead at him his eyes fierce.

When he found out how Yi Chen and Li Ran went behind his back and dug in through the prime minister’s highly classified servers looking for evidence he was extremely angry.

That he could get over but what he couldn’t accept was the fact that his son knew something and was deliberately hiding it. It didn’t take much for the Marshal to figure out Zi Han did it, he just didn’t have evidence to back that up.

What angered him the most was that Yi Chen was protecting him and lying about it. His well-behaved son that never defied his orders was now actively going against him for an outsider.

“Lord knows I also want to finish off that bastard after what he did to you but Zi Han still broke the law and committed treason. I can protect him. Just tell me everything that happened,” said the Marshal his tone much softer than before as though trying to coax it out of him.

Whoosh!

The soft sound of his office door slid open and Lin Ruoxi strode in her anger at an all-time high.

.....

“Yi Zhen! What are you doing to my son?” she said her hand on her hip ready to scold people for messing with her son.

She had been at a fashion event at Sena, a small star near Capital Star, when she heard the news. As soon as she got home, she didn’t even have time to change out of her stilettos when she heard Ming Ming saying that dad locked her older brother in his office and she heard arguing in there. Lin Ruoxi barged into the office ready to protect her cub.

“Our son, he is our son and he is hiding something from me. Ever since he met that Zi kid he hasn’t been the same. It’s unbecoming of the future marshal,” explained the Marshal but unfortunately, his wife couldn’t tolerate him bad-mouthing Zi Han.

“Why are you interrogating him like he is a criminal? Come, come Chen Chen. Let’s go. Your father has obviously lost his mind.”

Yi Chen was clearly aware of the laws of the jungle. Whoever wears the crown is king and in this family that would be his mother. Like a fish out of water, his father would flap a few times but in the end, he would cave in. Thus Yi Chen stood up and walked out without any hesitation.

“Yi Chen you!... You come back for this old man,” said the Marshal calling him back but Lin Ruoxi blocked his view her expression saying ‘you will be dealing with me from now on’ written all over her face.

“Ruo, you can’t be serious. He is obviously hiding something. Do you know how serious this matter is?” he said seeming frustrated at this point.

Lin Ruoxi closed the door and walked over to him her hand resting on his desk. “It is important but didn’t the prime minister try to kill him? He tried to kill my son and now you want to snitch on whoever shot that bastard? What if it was me who shot him, huh?”

Marshal Yi leaned back in his seat as he stared at her his brows furrowed. “I am just worried that this will come back and bite our family in the ass. They will take everything we have built for themselves and our children will suffer the consequences if they found out he knew something but chose to say nothing.”

Lin Ruoxi took away the cigar from his hand and smoked it blowing the puff of smoke in his face. The Marshal felt shivers all over his body knowing full well what this signified. Faced with the woman he loves he couldn’t resist the temptation.

He knew right then and there that he had already lost his case. “Freedom and justice is an illusion that only applies when it best suits those in power. If you were to hand over the perpetrator no one knows if he would even be able to get a trial date but Ikeda will most definitely get away with trying to murder my... our son.”

“That’s because he has the entire backing of the populous and he can control public opinion. You know all that better than I do. I am fairly certain a certain someone will make sure that the truth would never come out. They will never find out who did this.”

By the time she was done speaking she was already sitting on his desk her legs spread apart. While unbuttoning her sheer white blouse one button at a time she said in a whisper, “Now stop stressing... and fuck me.” After saying this the sleeves of her open blouse slipped down her shoulders revealing flawless snowy skin that made him gulp.

He clenched his fists trying to resist but he already knew he had lost the war before it even began. Seeing his hesitation, Lin Ruoxi messily ruffled her hair while taking off one of her heels before rubbing his lower half with her toes laced with pantyhose.

The Marshal’s breathing became heavy with his chest rising and falling rapidly. “You don’t want it?” she asked before taking another drag and leaning her head back releasing a puff of smoke while elongating her neck her message clear.

“Ms. Lin,” he said before grasping her waist and pulling her closer forcibly. Lin Ruoxi gasped sharply as she stared into his eyes her chest pressing against his face. The Marshal rose to his feet his lips deliberately brushing on her cleavage and neck before stopping near her ear lobe.
