The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 289

Zi Han was a little startled. He was about to ask Yi Chen what he was doing when Yi Chen raised his lover’s leg and placed it on top of his.

His hand rested on Zi Han’s waist which he kept caressing. “You are so clingy,” said Zi Han but Yi Chen opened his mouth like a chick anxious for food. Zi Han almost rolled his eyes.

“Do you like it? It’s my second time making it and I wasn’t really sure,” said Zi Han before blowing another spoonful to feed him.

Yi Chen nodded his head glancing at the piece of chicken like he wanted it. Zi Han wasn’t stingy about it. He took a bite before giving it to Yi Chen his smile priceless. Yi Chen would give anything to see that smile every day.

It didn’t take long for the soup in both bowls to finish and the atmosphere between them had changed subtly. That’s because Zi Han happened to mention the man from yesterday. He had been waiting to talk to his mother but he knew it wasn’t the right time.

He decided to talk to Yi Chen about it but Yi Chen was much more silent than usual. That’s because of what the man said yesterday. He was afraid if he tells Zi Han about it and it turns out to be false he would hurt Zi Han again.

He decided to investigate the matter and find a way to go to the Republic if he had to. Only then did he feel it would be okay to mention this matter to Zi Han. He felt horrible keeping something from him which is why he was more silent than usual.

“Do you think there is a way for us to go to the Republic? If the Republic can get to us then why can’t we get to the Republic? I know that there is like four million light years distance between the two galaxies but we can use the same technology that the exodus party used to warp to the present-day Federation and it wouldn’t take longer than a week to get there.”

.....

Hearing this the fingers rubbing against Zi Han’s thigh paused. Yi Chen recalled that dream that he had and couldn’t help but tense up. If the Republic was as bad as he saw in his dream then he didn’t want Zi Han to be in such a place. He also knew something Zi Han didn’t. That so-called space jump technology wasn’t a piece of machinery nor an intricate invention. It was the royal family members who had this gift and there was a high probability that Zi Han was the same.

At first, when Yi Chen heard the grey-haired boy confess that Zi Han’s father was dead he thought the Republic still had access to the Federation because among them one of them possessed the same gift to perform space jumps. Now that he knew Zi Han’s father was definitely alive everything made more sense.

“We can bring the fight to them and end this,” he said but Yi Chen’s face only got much worse.

“Baby can... can we not talk about that right now? I am sorry I just,” said Yi Chen as his hand tucked away Zi Han’s hair strand that was hanging loosely on his forehead before continuing, “I just want to spend time with you and forget everything that happened yesterday. I almost lost you.”

Zi Han was a little surprised but he soon recovered. He wrapped his arms around Yi Chen’s neck and pulled him closer.

He leaned forward and pressed his lips against Yi Chen’s and the two engaged in a passionate kiss that gave one the impression that they were going to rip each other’s clothes off and have sex on the kitchen counter.

Zi Han felt something hard poking his thigh and he suddenly withdrew. There was no way he was doing it now. Yi Chen still needed time to recover more especially when he never understood the meaning of the word moderation when it came to that.

Yi Chen who was denied a possible morning snack just watched as Zi Han stood up while pointing out, “You are still a patient.”

“I might be a patient but the gun still works... excellently at that,” he replied but Zi Han wasn’t convinced.

“I am going to take a shower. I am going out later. Do you want to come with?” asked Zi Han walking up the stairs.

Yi Chen nodded his head. Of course, he wanted to come with. He didn’t even know where Zi Han was going but he was definitely going with him.

“Then pick an outfit for me. Something that matches the weather,” said Zi Han as he walked up the stairs.

“Are you sure you want to trust me with that?” asked Yi Chen recalling the last time Zi Han asked him to do that. Let’s just say that it didn’t end well.

“Uh huh... don’t let me down,” said Zi Han before disappearing around the corner.

Yi Chen glanced down at the hard member outlined on his pants and sighed. The housekeeping robot was already cleaning up the bowls and cutlery in the background making light sounds and noises.

Yi Chen got up while ruffling his ear-length hair as he walked over to the lounge. He decided to watch some news before going up to find clothes for Zi Han.

Everything being broadcasted had something to do with what happened yesterday. They were reporting on the number of casualties and the damage done. Yi Chen skipped over it as he scrolled down looking for anything other than about the attack.

While scrolling he suddenly stopped when he saw a familiar name. The headlines were:

Local philanthropist Caney Volkov owner of the cafe Carnero was reported missing.

It wasn’t necessarily the name of the person but the name of the cafe. He tapped his light brain and opened his chat with Zi Han. As expected the coffee cup in the image was also Cafe Carnero. Yi Chen’s heart sank as he glanced at the open door upstairs. He didn’t want to believe it, and neither did he want to accept it. How could Zi Han have anything to do with that? It had to be a coincidence, right?
