The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 476

“I got it,” replied Yi Chen while running through the collapsing passageway.

His rage and anxiety were clearly written on his face as he dashed over to him. A dazzling blue black light shone around him as his mental power surged like a volcano after being repressed for a long time. His speed was unlike anything in the Republic thus Yeoh Lang didn’t see it coming.

With a loud bang the man’s body was once again shoved and this time he directly fell through the wall bashing his head before passing out cold.

Yi Chen rushed over to Zi Han and pulled him into his arms in a hurried panic. At the moment he really didn’t know what to do. It was because of that that an inexplicable fear rose within him.

“What do I do?” he whispered while caressing Zi Han’s cheek with his thumb wiping away the lone tear on his striking face.

Igneous knew that at this point and time, it had to do something thus it began to give instructions almost immediately.

“Marshal, you need to place him in the healing capsule,” it said and Yi Chen picked him up in a haste. In ten steps Yi Chen was already at the healing capsule that was still operational despite suffering some damage.

Yi Chen carefully lay him down and Igneous connected to the healing capsule taking control of its software. After running a quick diagnostic it gave him the instructions.

.....

Just like what Zi Han went through saving his father, Yi Chen went through the same thing as well. He had to find several labelled medical cylinders that he couldn’t understand their purpose.

The healing capsule closed and the fluid flowed in the thin pipeline like an IV fluid. As the fluid disappeared into Zi Han’s body his fingers that were stiff jerked a little.

Yi Chen who was holding his heart in his hands suddenly pursed his lips with his fingers pressed on the glass.

“Please be okay... Baby, please be okay,” he whispered his voice tremulous.

“How is he doing? Is it working?” asked Yeoh Jun the anxiety in his voice clear.

“I... I don’t know,” he whispered before Igneous reassured them both,

“There is no need to worry. The young sir will be fine. I will continue monitoring his vitals.”

The three fell silent for a while as the weight was lifted from their shoulders. After digesting the information and heaving a sigh of relief, Yeoh Jun suddenly realized something.

“Iggy, is that you?”

Igneous, “...”

Could somebody please tell this father and son pair that it hated this name so much? It made it sound like a cute AI system like those Hello kitty vending machines.

“Yes, it’s me, sir,” he replied and Yeoh Jun who had been stressing just now laughed happily hearing from his old friend.

“Help me get this mech moving. It’s not obeying my commands,” he said and Igneous obliged him.

The mech that hovered above the sky just now obediently lowered and shrunk in size fitting his limbs like a glove. It could let him go because his body was still so weak.

He slowly landed on the ground in front of the broken down building. He strode in as the headgear of the mech disintegrated.

In front of him was a young man standing by the healing capsule while staring at his son through the glass with an anxious look in his eyes.

The young man was so absorbed that he didn’t even lift his head to look at him. His red rimmed eyes remained transfixed on the person lying in the healing capsule. This allowed Yeoh Jun to observe him for a while. He remembered Igneous had called him Marshal before but wasn’t he a little too young to be Marshal Yi?

His face was almost an exact copy of Marshal Yi with the only difference being his youthfulness and his temperament.

Yeoh Jun’s brow arched finding this amusing. His son had hooked the former Marshal’s son to the point that he was like a love sick puppy. This wasn’t to mock him, in fact, he felt like they were on the same boat.

This young man was the exact same as how he was with his wife. The first time he saw her his entire world exploded. He found himself unable to sleep because each time he closed his eyes he would see her face coming closer to him calling him husband. With that kind of stimulation, how could he remain sane?

He decided to pursue her then but damn, that woman was not only crazy but she didn’t even put him into her eyes. It was as though he was invisible. Since retreating wasn’t an option he went the shameless route and boy was he shameless.

He was shameless to the point that his father had to discipline him. His behaviour was unbecoming of the future Emperor of Onyx Federation. The moment he got her he lost himself completely.

This young man was definitely the same with his son. He stretched out his hand covered with the cold mech metal. “You must be the Marshal’s son? I am prince Jun... since we are family you can call me dad,” he said.

Yi Chen finally came out of his stupor but he didn’t shake his hand. Instead, he took a step back and chose to kowtow to him. He had no idea why he felt that he would be committing a great sin if he didn’t.

Yeoh Jun grabbed his elbow with a slight quirk at the corner of his lips and pulled him up. “No need for that. We are family, aren’t we?” he said but it was Igneous who replied.

“Nope, they aren’t married yet.”

Yeoh Jun creased his brow slightly. He glanced at his son before reprimanding Yi Chen, “What are you dissatisfied with? He is a fine young man... well, I am assuming that my wife raised a good person so why not tie the knot?”

Yi Chen who had no clue, “....”
